The games from the Congress have been factored into the ratings.
After the congress I am -9.35656 with a sigma of 0.68605
I don't have all that far to go to get to 8 kyu :-) and with my new improved sigma it should be easier to get there.
I am very happy.

What's "sigma"?

sigma is a statistical term. I am not a math person so I probably won't describe it perfectly, but a low sigma makes it more difficult for your rating to change for the better or for the worse. It has to do with how much confidence the rating system has in the rating with which it has provided you. Low sigma = more confidence... hight sigma = less confidence. When you self promote your sigma goes up, which makes future advancement or demotion more speedy.

I keep trying to play more games, download all the games I can from various sites, added a screensaver that runs through those games--things to keep me aware of a game I love but am held back from with all my other work...
